Hi, my name is Philip.

I started at Federated Insurance as a summer student 3 years ago. At first, I thought insurance was really bland and boring, mostly because I started in an area that didn't match my strengths. But during my last summer here, I was approached by the Marketing Manager to come work with her in Marketing, which is the area in which I was majoring in university. By the time I graduated, the company had created a position perfectly suited to me. The people here at Federated Insurance really went the extra mile and continue to do so to help me achieve my goals.

Now I have a sweet job: I'm the Marketing Coordinator and loving every minute of it! I've discovered that insurance isn't so much about complicated policies and confusing benefits, it's about developing the relationships between the client and the representative. After all, we're not selling pieces of paper, we're selling peace of mind and a whole lot more.

I've discovered insurance is a really fast-paced world that has more than enough room for a creative individual like myself. I'm privileged to work in a mid-sized company that operates from coast to coast, because I get to meet a lot of new people, but I know that I can rely on the people around me to help me understand the vast number of different things I get to experience. In my first six months of full-time employment, I've experienced more things than most of my university friends who signed on with big companies and are now stuck in a cubicle off in a corner of a gigantic office tower.
